Andrew Darragh
A Universe of Possibilities
My Bio
Who I Am
Hello, my name is Andrew Darragh. I want to take some time to introduce myself to you and the rest of the world for the first time as an emerging museum professional. It has been a long road from my start as an undergrad working towards a physics degree.
In my time as a graduate student at IUPUI, I have had the good fortune to be allowed to take part in a number of projects that I am really proud of. Probably the one I enjoyed the most as a student was designing an exhibit reinstallation for the Wayne County Historical Society in Richmond, Indiana. For that project, my team had a particular challenge working around a beautiful, but large altar piece. For the exhibit, we developed a plan to create an experience centered around the religious history of Richmond and Wayne County, and I am proud that we developed an experience that drove inclusiveness in a time where that is in short supply.
However, what really drives me is my work in Evaluation and Audience Research. My personality is one of a people-watcher. I always enjoy finding out what people think, and more importantly why they think that. This includes my time working as an intern at the Eiteljorg Museum of American Indian and Western Art in Indianapolis. In my time there, as well as during my class work, I have had a number of chances to put that drive into practice: I have spent time developing surveys, collecting comment cards, and analyzing data, all in the name of finding out what makes people tick.
While this path is not what I had originally intended when I first entered college, it has been far more rewarding than I could have imagined.
